Methodology

  • Cadence: fortnightly. Each fortnight ends on the 15th or the last day of the month. This report covers 1 Apr 2024 to 15 Apr 2024; AUM is as of 15 Apr 2024.
  • NSDL publishes the official fortnightly sector-wise FPI figures, usually about a week after the fortnight closes, so the latest fortnight appears here once it has been published.
  • AUM is the value of FPI assets under custody in each sector at the fortnight end, across equity, debt and hybrid instruments. AUM share is a sector's AUM over the total of all 24 sectors (₹70,16,489 Cr); the shares, rounded to 2 decimals, sum to 100%.
  • Fortnight net flow is net investment (purchases minus sales) during the fortnight. The sector flows sum to the total of +₹7,210 Cr.
  • 1-year flow is the sum of the 24 fortnightly net flows from the fortnight ended 30 Apr 2023 to the one ended 15 Apr 2024. The sector figures sum to +₹3,38,925 Cr.
  • Sectors follow the exchange industry classification used since April 2022. Sovereign (government securities) and Others are not industry sectors: they are in the table and the totals but not in the biggest-inflow and outflow lists.
  • These figures include debt and hybrid investment, so they do not reconcile with the daily cash-market FII/DII figures.

This is historical data on what foreign portfolio investors held and traded, not investment advice and not a recommendation to buy or sell any security or sector. Tapetide is not a SEBI-registered research analyst or investment adviser. Markdown version.
