How are the heatmap tiles sized and coloured?
Stocks are grouped into market sectors, each sector sized by its share of the Nifty IT's market value and headed by its own move. Inside a sector each tile is one stock, sized by its market capitalisation; a sector's smallest stocks share one "+N" tile so every named tile stays readable. Colour shows the price change over the selected period (1 day by default): green for a gain, red for a fall, grey for flat, and a deeper shade for a bigger move. The scale reaches full strength at 1D ±5%, 1W ±10%, 1M ±15%, 3M ±25%, 6M ±35%, 1Y ±50%, as the legend above the map shows.
Which stocks are on the Nifty IT heatmap?
The current constituents of the Nifty IT. Switch index with the selector beside the title to see the Sensex, the broad Nifty indices, the mid and small cap indices, or a sector index. Every constituent is also listed in the table below the map, sortable by change, price, market cap, PE or volume.
What do the gainers and losers counts show?
How many constituents rose, fell or were unchanged on the day, with their average move and combined market cap. These counts always use the 1-day change; when the map is coloured by a longer period they are labelled "Today" so they are not read as that period's breadth.
Can I replay a trading session?
Yes. Replay plays a recent session minute by minute, from 09:15 to 15:29 IST, ending on the official close. Each tile shows the stock's move from the previous close at that minute, the sector headers and the index move with them, and the gainers and losers counts update as it plays. Pause, drag the slider or use the arrow keys to step through it, play at 1x, 2x or 4x, or pick another session. While a session replays the live refresh pauses; close the replay to return to the live map.
How often is the heatmap updated?
While the market is open, an open page refreshes the map about once a minute; it pauses while the tab is in the background. "Last updated" under the title is the trading day the prices describe, and after the close the map stays on that session until newer data arrives.
