Board meetings explained

What is a board meeting intimation?
Under SEBI listing rules a company must tell the exchanges in advance when its board is going to meet to consider certain matters — financial results, dividends, fund raising, buybacks, bonus issues and stock splits among them. That advance notice is the intimation, and it names the meeting date and what the board intends to discuss. This calendar lists those intimations as they are filed with NSE, so you can see what a company is about to decide before it decides it.
Does a scheduled board meeting mean the decision will happen?
No. An intimation says what the board will CONSIDER, not what it will approve. A board that meets to consider fund raising may decide against it, defer it, or approve something smaller than the market expected. Treat every row here as a scheduled discussion rather than a decided outcome — the outcome is published separately after the meeting, and only then does it become a corporate action with a date attached.
How far in advance are board meetings announced?
Usually about a week. Measured across a full results season, intimations arrived between 1 and 20 days before the meeting, with a median of roughly 7 days. That is why the forward view here is deliberately short: the exchange feed publishes what has been intimated recently rather than a full quarter ahead, so a date three months out will look empty until companies start filing for it. A quiet stretch further out is normally a gap in what has been announced, not a quiet period for the market.
Can a company change or cancel the meeting date?
Yes, and it happens. A company can reschedule a board meeting by filing a fresh intimation, and this calendar updates to match as the exchange republishes it. If a meeting was moved you may see the new date replace the old one rather than both. For that reason the meeting date is best read as the company's current plan rather than a fixed appointment.
Why does one meeting show several agenda items?
Because boards do several things in one sitting. A single meeting commonly considers the quarterly results AND a dividend AND other business, and the exchange files all of it as one entry. Each item is shown as its own tag so you can filter for the one you care about — filtering for Fund Raising finds a meeting where fund raising is one item among four, not only meetings about nothing else. It also means the counts in the filter list add up to more than the number of meetings.
What does "Other business matters" mean?
It is the exchange's catch-all for agenda items that do not fall into a named category, and it is a large share of the calendar. It is not filler: the description on each row is the company's own wording, and it can describe anything from a routine approval to a strategic expansion or a change in the management structure. Where a company has filed a description, this calendar shows it verbatim rather than summarising it.
How is this different from the corporate actions calendar?
This calendar is what is about to be DISCUSSED; the corporate actions calendar is what has been DECIDED. A board meeting appears here first, with a meeting date and an agenda. If the board approves a dividend, bonus or split, that outcome then appears on the corporate actions page with an ex-date and a record date — the dates that decide who is eligible. Fund raising, delisting and general business items only ever appear here, because they never get an ex-date.
What does the "Listed" date mean?
It is when the meeting first appeared on this calendar, which tells you whether an intimation is fresh news or has been on the books for a week. It is our own observation date, not an exchange timestamp — the feed does not publish the moment a filing was broadcast — so it should not be read as the exact time the company informed the exchange.
How often is this calendar updated?
Every hour through the day, from 6:50 am to 10:50 pm IST. Board meeting intimations arrive throughout the day and peak in the late afternoon, so an overnight-only refresh would leave the calendar hours behind the exchange. The time of the most recent update is shown at the bottom of the table.

About this calendar

This page tracks board meetings that NSE listed companies have intimated to the exchange in advance — the meeting date, and what the board has said it will consider. Agendas include quarterly and annual financial results, fund raising, dividends, buybacks, bonus issues, stock splits, voluntary delisting, and general business. Where a company has filed a description of the business to be transacted, it is shown in its own words rather than summarised.

A scheduled meeting is a plan, not an outcome. A board that meets to consider fund raising may approve it, change it or decide against it, and companies do reschedule their own meetings. Once a decision is taken and carries an ex-date, it appears on the corporate actions calendar instead. Filter by date range or agenda, search for a company by name or symbol, or sign in to narrow the calendar to your own watchlist or portfolio.
