TL;DR: Tata Communications is expanding its addressable market through strategic AI and 5G partnerships within the Tata ecosystem, and top-line growth remains steady at 8% YoY. However, profitability is under significant pressure with FY26 net profit nearly halving and Q1 FY27 operating profit dropping 51% QoQ, raising concerns about margin sustainability. The Kaleyra Africa closure suggests portfolio rationalization. The key question going forward is whether new AI and connected vehicle revenue streams can offset the sharp margin deterioration.
