How the Lower Circuit Stocks Today screen works

A stock is listed when it is an NSE-listed equity share and meets every condition below:

  • Down 10% or more on the day
  • Volume of at least 10,000 shares

Results are sorted by today's % change, lowest first. It catches the day’s steepest falls, including stocks locked at a lower price band.

Lower Circuit Stocks Today: common questions

Are all of these stocks actually locked in lower circuit?
Not necessarily. The screen uses a 10% fall as its threshold. Each stock’s exchange price band can be 2%, 5%, 10% or 20%, so some stocks here are still trading freely and some 5%-band stocks that are locked will not appear.
How often does this list update?
During market hours (9:15 am to 3:30 pm IST) the list is refreshed every few minutes, so stocks join and leave it as prices move. Outside market hours it shows the result of the last trading session.
Why is there a market cap and volume floor?
Very small or thinly traded stocks can move several percent on a handful of trades. The floors keep the list to stocks where the move reflects real trading activity.
